The path of destruction carved by Hurricane Matthew in Charleston, South Carolina can clearly be seen in its aftermath. It made its way through Haiti then Florida to arrive diminished yet still in a powerful rage to the historic coastal city. In its weakened state it was still able to wreak havoc by flooding streets and damaging homes and establishments. Charleston will now focus its attention at clearing the wreckage found at every corner. Yet the damaged caused in Charleston is considered miniscule if compared to the death toll and complete devastation caused to Haiti before reaching the Atlantic coast of the United States.
